Shrimp Farmers Get $1.2 Million to Develop 27 Farms

 

The International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFARD), a specialized agency of the United Nations, recently granted $1,223,241 to the Batticaloa District of eastern Sri Lanka for the development of a 120-acre shrimp farming project.  It will benefit 27 shrimp farmers, who will get a loan of $1,911 from the Bank of Ceylon and land to start their farms.
