Job—Chief Operating Officer, Shrimp Farming Projects

 

Oman Aquaculture Development Company (OADC) was created by the Oman Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries to set up and boost investments in aquaculture.  It is “the country’s aquaculture company” and has the support and backing of large well-established financial institutions and the government.  It has a position open for a chief operating officer (COO) to implement greenfield shrimp farming projects.

 

Description: The projects—which will have an initial investment of $260 million—will be for the production of shrimp (Penaeus indicus), marine algae and seedstock.  The COO will have the overall responsibility of evaluating, implementing and managing the projects.

 

Required Experience: Masters in Aquaculture or Fisheries and a minimum of 15 years experience as a general manager, chief executive officer or chief operating officer of a successful business.  It will be an advantage, but not a necessity, for the candidate to have managed shrimp operations.
