Copepod Production System

In Trondheim, Norway, C-Feeds, a spin-off from SINTEF, which is Scandinavia’s largest independent research organization, is building the world’s first industrial plant for the production of copepods, tiny crustaceans used to feed developing fish and shrimp.

Thus far, C-Feed has only produced small quantities copepods.  The new plant, scheduled to open in the fall of 2015, will increase its production by a factor of ten.

The venture attracted $1.7 million of investment and expects revenues of $1.3 million in its first year.
