Indonesia

Current Situation “As Depressing as It Can Get”

Pamindangan Farm (pamindangan@gmail.com), the talking shrimp farm, reports: The current state of Indonesian shrimp farming is as depressing as it can get.  We have:

• Low prices

• Higher costs (from feed to electricity)

• High mortality rates, low survival rates

• Slower growth

• Outbreaks of IMNV, whitespot and white feces disease

• Early harvests (from 5 grams on are becoming more common)

• And the inflation rate is shooting up

Don’t take my word for it; double check my comments with your contacts in Indonesia.
