OMARSA Reports on China Seafood Show

Sandro Coglitore, general manager of OMARSA, one of Ecuador’s largest shrimp exporters, said the 2013 China Fisheries and Seafood Show, was bigger, better and stronger than the 2012 show.  He said, “The show was busier than ever, we couldn’t even stop for coffee!”

In 2011, OMARSA exported only 6% of its production to China, but by October 2013, 40% of its production was going to China.  Japan is also becoming a big buyer of its shrimp, with exports through October 2013 jumping 87% over 2012.

Since 1982, OMARSA, among Ecuador’s top five shrimp exporting companies, has been dedicated to farming, processing and shipping premium-quality, shell-on and value-added frozen Penaeus vannamei.
