Omarsa, Favorable Ethics Audit

Omarsa has been farming, processing and shipping shrimp for over 33 years and today it is one of Ecuador’s top three shrimp exporting companies.  In December 2015, its packing plant was audited by SEDEX Members Ethical Trade Audits, which ensures ethical trade and social responsibility of companies through the assessment of compliance with regulations related to labor and occupational risks.  Sandro Coglitore, CEO of Omarsa, said, “This is the first major audit in work ethics we have done and we are very proud of the results.  Omarsa focuses on sustainable shrimp production and is committed to keep improving our social, economic and environmental performance.”
