Ca Mau Province Statistics

 

By 2020, Ca Mau Province expects to have 280,000 hectares of shrimp ponds and harvests of 280,000 metric tons with an export value of $2 billion.  Currently, the province is rearing shrimp on 278,000 hectares, including nearly 400 hectares of super-intensive farms, which yield 22 metric tons per hectare per crop!  Ca Mau aims to raise the output of super-intensive farms to 22,000 tons by 2020 and 50,000 tons (from 2,000 hectares of intensive ponds) by 2030.

 

By 2020, Ca Mau will expand the area of ecological shrimp farms under forest canopies to 27,800 hectares.  Over 10,000 hectares of those ponds will be certified.  In addition, the province will also enlarge the area of extensive farming and mixed farming to 100,000 hectares and the area of ecological shrimp farming in rice fields to 53,000 hectares.
