Camposol Second Quarter 2017 Financial Results

During the second quarter of 2017, Camposol Holding, Ltd., the leading agro industrial company in Peru, generated earnings of $26.1 million (before interest payments, taxes, depreciation and amoritization), 253% higher than reported in the second quarter of 2016.  Camposol is involved in the harvest, processing and marketing of avocadoes, asparagus, blueberries, grapes, mangos, peppers, artichokes, tangerines—and shrimp.  It exports them to Europe, the United States and Asia.  As of June 30, 2017, it maintained a cash balance of $27.4 million.

During the second quarter of 2017, sales were $70.4 million, up 44.9% from second quarter 2016.  This increase was partially explained by higher sales due to an increase in revenues from Marinasol, its shrimp farming division.

Marinasol expects to continue its diversification strategy by converting large, open ponds into intensive ponds.
