Big, New MBG Project

The South Korea-based MBG Group, based on a solid relationship with the Indonesian government through its nickel-mining business, has received a 2,900-hectare grant from the Indonesian government for a shrimp farm, which broke ground in August 2017.  The farm is expected to become the world’s second largest shrimp farm with $3.5 million in revenue for every 10 hectares of ponds developed.

Established in 2009 as a startup within the nation’s top-notch science college, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, the MBG group is led by chief executive Lim Dong-pyo.
