Zero-Antibiotic Certification!

At a shrimp seminar in China, José Antonio Camposano, the chief executive of Ecuador’s National Chamber of Aquaculture (CNA), announced that the Ecuadorian shrimp industry is working on an initiative to make Ecuador the first country to implement zero-antibiotic certification!

At the seminar, Camposano commented on Ecuador’s shrimp exports: “We are growing as an industry, and we export mainly to Asia and particularly to China.”  In the first nine months of 2017, Ecuador shipped 389.5 million pounds of shrimp to Asian markets, representing 57 percent of its total shrimp exports.  He also met with representatives of Price Waterhouse Coupers (PWC) to analyze the tariff and tax situation in China.
